What is Somatic Experiencing® also known as SE™?

According to the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute:

SE is a potent psychobiological method for resolving trauma symptoms and relieving chronic stress. It resets the nervous system, restores inner balance, enhances resilience to stress, and increases people’s vitality, equanimity, and capacity to actively engage in life.

ABOUT Vasyl Ghanimian, LCSW, SEP

My journey in advocacy and service work began at an early age, and it has manifested in my academic and professional achievements. After changing course from pursuing work in local government and national politics, I entered graduate school to deepen my understanding of micro and macro level social topics.

As a graduate MSW student, I learned much about human behavior and many of the challenges facing different populations. My last year's coursework concentrated on forensic issues in social work. I spent that academic year as a Psychiatric Social Worker Intern within the juvenile branch of the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office.

Prior to branching into my own private practice, VG TRINITY HEALTH, I spent over 5 years working in a psychology office that provided outpatient mental health services to various populations, including children, adolescents, and adults impacted by immigration-related issues. It was in that setting that I was able to refine my skills in clinical assessment and treatment. Additionally, my values concerning human rights and justice were fortified.

The intersection of law and society continues to pull my interest, as I am currently in the process of obtaining another graduate degree. A master of science in criminal justice will deepen my understanding of the criminal justice system and topics such as offending behavior, recidivism and offender rehabilitation.

I have accumulated over 5 years of clinical experience conducting mental health assessments. These have included testing and treatment for adults and children facing immigration-related issues. Clients that I have worked with have been from all over the world including Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, England, France, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Italy, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Mongolia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, South Africa, England, and New Zealand.
